In pursuit of transparency and a strategic roadmap, Dr. Ria Fajilago enlightened the audience regarding the Year-end Report and Development Plan of the Department of Financial Management. It consists of a blueprint for maintaining the Level 4 Accreditation of the program, which was recently re-accredited.

All programs to be constructed in this plan will be based on the umbrella program ‘FINAHUSAY,’ constituting Harmonized programs with the ten pillars of PUP, Upskilling students and faculty of the department, Systematized procedures and guidelines, Advocate financial literacy and awareness, and Yield recognitions.

It consists of initiatives and subcategories in support of the five areas of accreditation: 1) FINAdama for Extension; 2) FINAsaliksik for Research; 3) FINAalam for Teaching and Learning; 4) FINAlawak for Internationalization; and 5) FINAayos for Well-developed Objectives.

As the ceremony shifts to the introduction of the DFM Faculty for the academic year 2023-2024, the spotlight turned towards the educators and mentors who play a significant role in carving both the academic and professional journey of financial management students at PUP. In line with this, the Outstanding Faculty Award was awarded to Dr. Allan A. Calderon and Prof. Darren D. Cortez.

The expertise and guidance of the DFM faculty lay the foundation for the continued excellence that defines the PUP FM community. To honor their service and commitment to academic excellence, the Excellent Faculty Service Award was given to Dr. Ria S. Fajilago, Dr. Henry B. Prudente, Prof. Realin C. Aranza, Assoc. The Certificate of Lifetime Appreciation was bestowed upon two individuals, including retired professors, former DFM administrators or employees, or non-DFM personalities, who have rendered overwhelming support. The award was given to Mr. Vic Bulan and Mr. Onofre Marcos Jr. as a sincere expression of gratitude for the lasting impact and steadfast support that these people have given, providing an enduring legacy for the DFM community.

Amidst the celebration of excellence, the ceremony continued as it ascended emphasis toward the PUP Financial Management Alumni Association, Incorporated (PUPFMAAI), introduced by the organization's President and outstanding alumnus, Mr. Gem Galapar. His path from the corridors of PUP to the pinnacles of success serves as an inspiration to all.

In his words, "We are here to bring the corporate world to you." His presence and wisdom of experience provided the event of his integrated legacy—connecting the past with future aspirations.

The fourth awarding portion recognizes their remarkable accomplishments and the beneficial impact they've made in their careers, among other things. The Outstanding Alumni Award honors their firm commitment to becoming constant beacons of pride, motivating the present and future members of the academic community. It was conferred to the following alumni: Arthur Gozum, Iylmer Pontejos, Lloyd Christian Calvario, Randy Borbe, and Agape Genio.

These outstanding alumni have shared their words in inspiring the audience of the ceremony. Most were noteworthy, emphasizing how the current life of FM students will shape their future in the finance and corporate world.

In a quote from Mr. Randy Borbe, he remarked, "Don't be afraid to take the  small steps; they'll take you to big stages like this one."
