With the theme “Building Tomorrow’s Solutions: Smart Research, Real Impact,” the inaugural DFM Strategic Feasibility Study (SFS) Summit 2025 marked a significant academic milestone, as 44 groups of third-year Financial Management students from PUP delivered comprehensive business proposals grounded in real-world corporate challenges.
Introducing a bold departure from traditional feasibility studies, the new SFS model implemented this year was patterned after corporate business case analysis, making it the first of its kind in the Department of Financial Management.
Students collaborated with existing companies as industry partners, conducted in-depth business analyses, identified operational gaps, and developed strategic, data-driven solutions aimed at addressing real business problems.
Each group submitted a full business case manuscript, produced a one-minute video pitch, and delivered a formal PowerPoint presentation defending the feasibility of their proposals across five critical dimensions: Technical, Operational, Market, Financial, and Implementation.
A panel of distinguished industry experts and corporate practitioners provided valuable feedback based on current business standards and real-world expectations.
Among the panelists were Gregorio Severino, Marc Cacho, Mark Anthony G. De Leon, Jesper Ong, John Lorenzo, Vesan Mamba, Dean Fabella, Jornel S. Panlilio, Rochelle de Jesus, Glenn Mark P. Barrientos, Rodolfo dela Riva, Xerxes Ilagan, Ma. Cielito D. Aldana, Lloyd Calvario, Christian Villar, Delma Y. The Best 1-Minute Video Clip Award was given to three groups for outstanding creativity and clarity in presentation: 3-11S Group 3, 3-7S Group 3, and 3-5 Group 3.
The summit was led by SFS Program Head Asst. Prof. Gem B. Galupar and PUP DFM Chairperson Dr. Ria S. Fajilago, with support from DFM Research Coordinator Dr. Allan Calderon, DFM Consultants Assoc.
