2nd year Level webinar entitled "FinQuest Adventure: Mapping Financial Freedom in Early 20s,” held last May 23, 2024, via Zoom and Facebook Live, successfully mapped out the guides and secrets of financial freedom to the BSBA-FM students.

On May 23, the 2nd-year financial management students attended the webinar entitled "FinQuest Adventure: Mapping Financial Freedom in Early 20s,” via Zoom and Facebook Live, which was also organized by the dedicated 2nd-year pillars.

The DFM’s chairperson, Ma’am Ria Fajilago, opened the webinar by delivering her welcoming remarks and encouraging students to listen and take note of the key lessons that will be shared by the esteemed speakers.

The first speaker, Mr. Arvin Christopher Reyes, President of the Rotaract Club of Manila tackled investing in the early 20s, particularly the distinct types of investments in accordance with one’s risk appetite. In his presentation, he highlighted that patience is the key to growing your money; and an investor must do his own research, accept mistakes, prepare a safety net, and invest only what he can lose. 

The second speaker, Mr. Joshe Calvin Tiu, the Chief Executive Officer of LS Ventures, and current President of the Rotaract Club of Chinatown-Manila, focused mainly on the idea of “Living within your means.” According to him, your income should determine how much you will spend your money; thus, spending and saving is usually recommended to be less than your income.

The third speaker, Mr. Raphael Bustamante, a Wealth Trainer from COL Financial, the top online stockbroker in the Philippines, emphasized why people need to invest as early as they can. He underscored that knowing your earning capacity is the most crucial thing to do before investing in any securities. 

Before the webinar ended, Professor Gem Galupar urged the 2nd year FM students to revisit the recorded webinar as this covers trading and investment fundamentals which will be tackled in 3rd year. He also invited the students to get ready for the 2-month national trading contest which will happen again next year. 

Ms. Demi-Rae Camacho, one of the main heads, awarded the certificate of appreciation to the esteemed speakers. Afterward, the marketing committee recognized the lucky winners of the marketing segment and DTG from day ten to day four.

To formally conclude the webinar, Ms. Geraldin Almazan, one of the main heads as well, delivered her impactful closing remark.
