NEWS l 1st Year DFM Departmental Examination in BFA 1

The first-ever Basic Financial Accounting 1 departmental exam for first-year Financial Management students was held on January 28, 2025. Freshmen gathered in the Main Building's East Wing, ready to show their knowledge and understanding of fundamental accounting concepts. The question is: Ka-Finance, kinaya mo ba?

The Department of Financial Management successfully conducted its first-ever Departmental Examination on Basic Financial Accounting 1 for first-year students on January 28, 2025. The purpose of the examination was to fulfill the requirement for the First Semester of the 1st-year FM Students to be evaluated on their understanding of the fundamental concepts of accounting. 

In the halls of the Main Building’s East Wing, students came in as early as 8:00 AM occupying nine odd rooms from E507 to E517. Some looked nervous while others were confidently going over their notes for the 9:00 AM pen-and-paper examination start time. 

Four JFINEX-PUP officers and two second-year students from the Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) program were also present to ensure proper exam conduct throughout the three-hour exam period. 

As soon as the exam ended, students were seen leaving the rooms relieved with excitement. Some carried a smile with them on the face, all feeling proud at the completion of the test; others sat and huddled around each other comparing answers, arguing tricky questions, and sharing their overall experience of the deptals. Some students even mentioned how the exam felt like a nostalgic déjà vu of their entrance exams from a year ago, bringing back memories of their first step into the university. 

Dr. Fajilago informed that the Top 10 Financial Management students, based on their performance in the exam, will be officially announced on the DFM page. Everyone is encouraged to stay updated and keep an eye out for the results. 

The first Departmental Examination is strong academic ground laid for the journey of students under the program which aims to keep excellence in line. It heralds one of the very important milestones within the Department of Financial Management.
