The anticipated event wrapped up successfully last Friday, December 17, in a live coverage on JFINEX-PUP official Facebook page going out with this year’s theme: “Felicidad En Vida: Paskuhan sa Nayong Pinansya”. It brought performances, jams, and imparted reminders this coming holidays.

For this year’s assembly, the success of it can be traced mainly to the objective of Project YouthTurn, a fundraising drive to reach the less privileged children residing near PUP Main Campus. It focuses to support their education, health, and development.

Elite Singers, together with JFINEX Creatives sang the opening prayer and national anthem. The JFINEX-PUP Officers staged their Christmas themed performances through singing, role-playing, and jingle. It was followed by the Marketing Department’s segment, Pasku-lang.

The Music Jammers serenaded the viewers while the introduction of Face of the Team was presented. The first guest performer to vocal out was Supremo Band.

The welcoming discussion led by the first guest speaker, Mr. Carlo Magno Santuico tackled on How to Bring out the Jomo from this Holiday Season’s Fomo. He illustrated Fomo and Jomo’s differences, its relativity to social media addiction, studies, and other factors from its occurrence. He made a key point on how to prevent addiction, personal development, and what Christmas meant for us.
“It is time to assess. The source of joy ay nakikita sa sarili mo, na may progress ka pala at nakamit.” He stated. [The source of joy is found within you, that you have progress and achievements.]

College students encountered the vulnerable effects of it in mental health and academic performance. At the end of his discussion, he hoped to spread happiness and for the delegates to find themselves on the great path.
Succeeding the first lecture, Mrs. Mary Easter Claire Perez-Torres opened the topic on Christmas family gathering’s situation. Entitled “How NOT to be the Tita Merry-Tes,” It addressed the typical comments in Filipino gatherings, unsolicited remarks, and the reasons behind the criticism. While it may be rooted down for a reason, mental health stigma is being normalized. “‘Pag nasaktan ka, sensitive ka”, she said. [If you felt hurt, you are sensitive.] It is commonly a term and sign of verbal stereotypes we might hear.

She also added the intergenerational trauma from elders and how to react to it. “You’re not defined by shape and size, value doesn’t come from your civil status, nor worth is dictated by your profession”, she expressed. She identified boundaries and personal affirmations as mechanisms on the said matter.

The Virtual Caroling from various teams was sung with glee. Guests performers, Ynish, and Jana Garcia, performed lively performances, respectively. Finex Dance Company was also present at the event. The Face of the Team competed against each other with their rendered production.

Russel Santos won the MEME-MORY LANE: MEME Competition, Ragueve Ombega was named the Face of the Year End Assembly 2022. BSBA FM 1-4, 2-6, 3-4, and 4-6, won the Best Section Award on their respective level. Kyle Genolaga was awarded the Best Team Leader.

The event ended with a performance from the renowned band, Itchyworms, who played their hit song “Gusto Ko Lang Sa Buhay”.
