The Junior Financial Executives-PUP recently held its 2023 online workshop entitled “Be enlivened, serve with purpose” on November 7 on the Zoom platform.
The webinar was conducted to hone the skills and talents of aspiring leaders. The JFINEX-PUP also provided mini-trainings during the session to teach and give initial practice to students.
The organization concisely discussed the duties and responsibilities of student leaders from the marketing department all the way down to the human resource department.
The marketing department is responsible for business proposals, negotiating with different businesses, finding sponsors, handling marketing segments, and promoting the organization.
For the workshop, the department discussed the different things to consider to develop a marketing mindset that can lead to effective marketing techniques.
The publicity department is assigned to edit the publicity materials of the organization, including official posters, event teasers, and DP blasts.
The basics of color theory, basic design principles, and websites/apps used were also briefly explained in the mini-workshop under the publicity department.
The finance department assists in filing all the organization’s financial records and making sure that the fund is always liquid.
The audit department ensures the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of all the financial activities done by the organization.
Under the finance and audit department, the officers provided a mini-task related to the allocation of the budget to assess how these aspiring junior officers create a budgetary outlay.
The last department is the human resource department, which is responsible for legal affairs, accomplishment reports, and updating the directory of members, officers, and the executive board.
For the mini-training, they discussed the parts of the e-mail, how to construct a well-written and professional e-mail, and tips to avoid writing a bad e-mail.
Aside from mini-trainings from each department, the duties and responsibilities of year-level representatives were also discussed, which included the collection of different documentation like students’ databases, profiles, and schedules.
The basic guide for answering students’ queries and announcement structures were also taught as part of the workshop.
The JFINEX Workshop 2023 ended successfully, as a lot of financial management students from different sections participated in the said workshop. Applications for junior officers and year-level representatives are officially closed and a new set of JFINEX student leaders will be released soon.
