Illuminating Potential of Exemplary Catalyst is the theme of the Junior Financial Executives-PUP Workshop 2024, held on October 23, 2024, Wednesday, at 1:00 PM via Microsoft Teams.
“Today is more than just an event; it is an opportunity for growth, both personally and professionally,” said by Mr. Sherwin Paul R. Padillon, President of JFINEX-PUP, in his compelling welcome remarks.
“We are here today to cultivate skills that will not only help you excel in your academic journey, but also prepare you to be future catalysts of change in whatever field that you choose and beyond,” he added.
This dynamic leadership development event, tailored for BSBA Financial Management students, focused on honing participants into effective leaders with skills vital for personal and organizational growth through a one-day training session, attendees received in-depth guidance on the structure, functions, and responsibilities of various JFINEX-PUP departments.
Ms. Geraldin B. Almazon, EVP for Internal Affairs of JFINEX-PUP, outlined the organization’s core structure, spotlighting its key departments—Executive Heads, Human Resources, Finance and Audit, Publicity, Marketing, Year Level Representatives, and specialized Committees—each vital in driving operational excellence and fostering leadership among members.
Seasoned leaders conducted engaging talks and interactive sessions, sharing their expertise to empower participants to take on leadership roles with confidence.
This year’s workshop featured Ms. Daphne Char P. De Guzman and Ms. Pauline Nicole C. Cambal as guest speakers, sharing insightful perspectives drawn from their journeys as distinguished alumnae of JFINEX-PUP.
The first speaker, Ms. Daphne Char P. De Guzman, delivered a compelling talk titled From Potential to Purpose: Stepping into Leadership with Confidence, empowering participants to unlock their potential and embrace leadership with boldness and clarity.
“This isn’t just about extracurriculars—it’s about the excellence you can achieve with JFINEX-PUP,” she emphasized, adding, “Success is not a solo flight; it is a collaboration.”
The second speaker, Ms. Pauline Nicole C. Cambal, captivated the audience with her discourse on the Secret of Effective Leadership and the essential qualities that define true leaders, inspiring participants to embody integrity, vision, and resilience in their leadership journeys.
“Willpower is the secret for effective leadership because it's something that drives a leader to stay focused,” she stated during her impactful talk.
The workshop also emphasizes the vital roles of each department and inspires participants to join, highlighting how they contribute to the organization's success:
The Marketing Department, spearheaded by Aira Faye R. Galarde (VP) and Joshua H. Yu (Assistant VP), focuses on elevating the organization’s visibility through innovative campaigns designed to shape public perception and engage stakeholders effectively. Meanwhile, the Publicity Department, led by Stephanie Sigrid A. Cantara (VP) and John Kirby T. Valmores (Assistant VP), plays a crucial role in amplifying the group’s presence, ensuring that communication across platforms is strategic and consistent.
In the financial sector, Princess Jane P. Capilastique (VP), Jeremy Lawrence P. Lising (Assistant VP), and John Paul A. Maliwat (Auditor) manage the Finance and Audit Department, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and resource optimization for sustainable operations.
The Human Resources Department, under the guidance of Demi-Rae A. Camacho (VP) and Ashely Nicole L. Serafica (Assistant VP), prioritizes talent development and fosters an inclusive environment to empower every member to excel within the organization.
Lastly, the Committee Department, chaired by Wirlyn May Ramos, ensures seamless collaboration, promoting efficiency and teamwork through proactive leadership and structured coordination.
