Speak for the voiceless — both human and animal. This week, let’s raise awareness and take a stand against cruelty and violence in all its forms. Together, we can be the change that brings peace, protection, and compassion.

Cruelty”, one word yet so hard to hear.

As I browse through my feed, several news and online articles about animal cruelty are showing up. From cats, dogs, and to other animals who were experiencing pain and brutality at the hands of a cruel human. I cannot fathom how those so-called humans can do such horrible acts to those innocent little creatures who were just trying to live and survive for each day. I put down my phone for the reason that I cannot endure seeing the picture of those poor cats and dogs getting abused and beaten to death. I decided to open my television, but a breaking news appeared on the screen, stating about violence that goes against human rights. Well, I believe that violence is still violence regardless of its form—physical, emotional, or mental. Many women and children are experiencing violence, and it comes from the oppressive so-called humans—or, perhaps more precisely, human rights violators.

I started to think deeply and with the thoughts swirling through my mind,  I became confused on why do people tend to do such acts that cause nothing good but harm? Why do they hurt those who cannot speak? Why do they need to damage one’s well-being? Why do they have the audacity to use their authority to do such dreadful deeds? Admit it or not, cruelty and violence causes pain, it only brings excruciating trauma, and worse, it may also be the cause of death and suffering of those living beings with pure souls.

As we are in the third week of April this year 2025, we, people, must know the importance of animal cruelty and human violence awareness. This is not simply a week to remember. This is a week to make simple actions, leading to an enormous societal change, ending the essence of senseless cruelty.

Animal Cruelty and Human Violence Awareness Week is all about paying attention to the unnoticed side of unheard voices and the stares of those asking for help. Standing for what is right means stopping the inhumane actions. Let us dedicate this time to the things that need to have their end.

Humans matter the most. Animals matter the most.

No one deserves to experience the unforgiven act of atrocity.

Speak for the voiceless. Stand for those who need help.

Stop the abuse. Stop the harm.

Start to raise awareness. Start to strive for peace of each and every lives.
